#Coronavirus: Suspected NW case negative─── LUCKY NKUYANE 15:36 Mon, 09 Mar 2020
The South African Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, has announced that a suspected case of the novel coronavirus in the North West has turned out to be negative.
Mkhize says this follows after at least two medical tests that were conducted on the suspected person from Vryburg in the province.
He has, however, announced that the number of those who have been infected by the disease has risen to seven after four more people tested positive for the virus, all related to the first case.
The case follows the confirmation of two cases in KwaZulu-Natal involving a couple who returned from Italy, and a case of a 39-year-old woman in Gauteng who was in direct contact with the first case.
This is a developing story.
