Water supply continues in FS to fight #COVID19 | News Article

The Department of Water and Sanitation says they have distributed a total of 1 265 tankers and 134 water trucks in the Free State before and during the national lockdown.

The department's spokesperson, Larry Crisp, says the department is also partnering with the South African Red Cross Society to hand out 8 000 hand sanitisers and 2 400 bar soaps to identified homeless centres and vulnerable households.

He says this is in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Crisp also urge communities to continue to wash their hands with soap and water at regular intervals and to stay at home and obey the lockdown regulations.

He further says the department is constantly communicating with municipalities to maximize the efforts.

Crisp further explained that a team from the Free State water and sanitation department is testing the quality of water on a daily basis to ensure that residents receive safe and clean water.
