Missing FS boy found dead─── OLEBOGENG MOTSE 16:40 Fri, 29 May 2020
The frantic search for a missing four-year-old boy from Tweespruit in the Free State has come to a tragic end.
Provincial police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, confirms the body of Mpho Albert March, from Thaba Patswa township in Tweespruit, was discovered by a resident on Friday afternoon, who was going to fetch wood in a remote hilly area nearby.
Makhele says the four-year old was found lying face down, and had bruises on his face.
March was reported missing by his mother on May 25 after he went to a nearby field with a 15-year-old. It’s reported the duo were going to fetch cattle. The unnamed teenager says the deceased looked fatigued, so he left him in one part of the veld. That was the last time he was seen. Makhele says an inquest docket has been opened and the death is under investigation.
The search for the child, in the Free State winter, included an aerial search and the use of rescue dogs.
