#CoronavirusFS: Traffic testing centres close─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 11:52 Wed, 15 Jul 2020
Three official buildings have been closed due to Covid-19, says the Free State Department of Police, Roads and Transport.
Spokesperson, Hillary Mophethe, says the department's testing stations in Odendaalsrus, Rouxville and Virginia have been closed after three employees at these departmental buildings tested positive for the coronavirus.
She says the building will undergo deep cleaning and employees who were in contact with the infected individuals will go for testing and self-quarantine. The closure of these buildings comes just days after the department confirmed the re-opening of one of its biggest testing centres, Lengau in Bloemfontein, after it was closed due to the virus.
Mophethe adds the Welkom Driving Licence Testing Centre and the Government Garage are set to re-open next week Monday.
"The Department will continue to take all necessary precautionary measures aimed at protecting employees as well as the public from contracting the virus. We regret the inconvenience caused by these closures and appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this regard," she said in a statement.
She further appeals to members of the public to take all precautionary measures and adhere to the Covid-19 regulations.
