Power cuts are expected to hit at least two districts in the Free State this week.
Areas that will be affected are in Lejweleputswa District’s Sunrise township, and N1 in Thabong in Welkom. The electricity cuts are scheduled from 17:00 until 20:00 on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, power will also be cut in K3, K7 and Block 5 in Kutloanong in Odendaalsrus, and Bohlokong in Bethlehem. These cuts will be from 18:00 to 21:00 on Thursday.
Eskom explains the power cuts will be in effect in areas that are high density as they are likely to have higher usage.
The power utility says these are measures to avoid the overloading in their networks and possible damage to its infrastructure.
