Premier wishes Bfn Celtic good luck | News Article

The Free State premier, Sisi Ntombela, wishes the Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club good luck as they will be clashing with Mamelodi Sundowns at Orlando Stadium in Gauteng on Saturday night in the Nedbank Cup final.

The premier's spokesperson, Sello Pietersen, says Ntombela has described the football club as the pride of the Free State and states that under normal circumstances the club’s supporters would have painted the stadium green and white to show their support. However, given the outbreak of the coronavirus, they will, unfortunately, have to watch the match from their homes.

Pietersen says Ntombela added that the team can rest assured that they will be receiving unconditional support when they take to the field tonight.

Ntombela further urges the club’s supporters to observe Covid-19 protocols. This, as "We are still very much in the middle of a war against the disease, and we cannot overemphasize the importance of taking all the precautionary measures."

The match is expected to kick off at 20:00 tonight.
