NW police probes attack on ANC official─── LUCKY NKUYANE 10:37 Mon, 28 Sep 2020
The North West police are investigating a case of assault following an attack on the ANC Interim Regional Committee's (IRC) deputy convenor in the Bojanala region on Sunday.
The police spokesperson Aafje Botma confirms that Abbia Modise was allegedly attacked by a group of unknown people in the basement of the Rustenburg Civic Centre. She says Modise was admitted to a Rustenburg Hospital with head, facial, and body injuries following an attack at around 10:30 in the area.
She says the police must, however, still receive a statement from the hospitalised victim as a result of restrictions due to regulations around hospital visitation as a result of the pandemic. Botma says she understands that Modise called the police to lay a complaint telephonically.
Botma adds that at this stage no-one has been arrested following the attack.
