The police in the Northern Cape confirmed that murder and house robbery investigations are underway after a 40-year-old businessman was found dead in his swimming pool, at his home in Pofadder.
Police provincial spokesperson, Mohale Ramatseba, says the deceased was found with several stab wounds to his chest when his body was discovered on Wednesday.
It is alleged the businessman is a well-known hotel owner in the province. Whilst the police have not yet revealed his identity, social media users have claimed it is Leon Brits.
Ramatseba in a statement says information remains sketchy at this stage, adding it is alleged that some valuable items are missing from the home.
"Anyone with information can call D/Lt Col David Groenewald on 082 448 4596. No arrests at this stage. The investigation continues," he added.
