FS communities to weigh in on new property regulations─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 09:05 Wed, 21 Oct 2020
The Free State Human Settlements Department is calling on members of the public to come forward and comment on the Property Practitioners Regulations.
The department’s Legal Head, Khwezi Ngwenya, tells OFM News they have completed the drafting of the regulations and would like a public opinion on it. He explains the regulations not only seeks to protect the rights of property owners or those in property trading but seeks to ensure transformation in the property market. He says the newly drafted regulations also seek to enable new players into the market and allow the previously disadvantaged groups to take part in this industry.
Information sessions where comments to the department can be made by members of the public and those already in the property market will be held in Bloemfontein at the Protea Hotel this Wednesday afternoon.
Ngwenya says the first leg of the sessions in Welkom on Tuesday was a success.
He adds all sessions will be conducted adhering to the strict Covid-19 regulations.
