This is according to the South African Weather Services in Bloemfontein's Siyabonga Mpati, who states that rhere is an 80 percent chance of showers and thundershowers in the Northern Cape and 30 percent in the Free State and North West. 

He adds that the rain activity will take place mostly in the afternoon and in the evenings. Mpati explains that the weather will start clearing up from Wednesday.

Mpati also confirms that it will be a sunny Christmas day this year in the Northern Cape and most parts of the Free State and North West. He further explained that it has been a fairly good season of rain for Central South Africa. Adding on to that he says this is as the rain season came earlier compared to last year. He further says the dams are filling up.
