Suspect detained for transporting liquor─── 09:24 Sat, 02 Jan 2021
The Phuthaditjhaba Public Order Police (POP) unit received and acted on information about a person who was transporting liquor in a funeral parlour vehicle.
According to a statement from the SAPS in the Free State, the vehicle was traced and found in Harrismith.
The vehicle was searched and liquor valued at R5000 was confiscated.
The 23 year old suspect was arrested and detained for transporting liquor during the adjusted Level 3 Covid-19 lockdown.
He will appear before the Harrismith Magistrate court soon, and will be charged under the Disaster Management ACT.
