The man will make his first appearance at the Clocolan Magistrate's Court following his arrest on Wednesday, for transportation of alcohol in his vehicle. 

Police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, says the suspect was arrested following a tip-off. He says it's alleged that the man tried to dodge a roadblock on the R708 road and as a result, his vehicle got stuck in the mud.

"In his quest to avoid the police, the suspect's vehicle got stuck in the mud, subsequently the suspect asked for assistance, however, the police were notified about the incident. 

"On their arrival, the police discovered that the suspect had liquor that was packed inside his vehicle," he adds. The alcohol and cash that was allegedly hidden in his travelling bag were also confiscated.

Makhele says the suspect was arrested after he failed to give satisfactory answers about the alcohol.
