North West police are investigating a case of an inquest after a boy was allegedly hit and killed by a train.
The apparent accident occurred in Kanana near Orkney in the Matlosana area.
Police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone, confirms that an eight-year-old boy was allegedly hit by a train at about 16:30 on Thursday.
He says it is not yet clear at this stage what could have led to the incident.
Mokgwabone adds that the investigation into the matter continues.
