The van was last seen making its way to Riebeeckstad on Wednesday.

According to police spokesperson, Montantsi Makhele, the driver of the courier bakkie was parked at Boitumelo Mall, delivering items, when he was approached by two unknown men, with one pointing a gun at the driver.

Makhele says he was instructed to get into the bakkie, where he proceeded to drive into bushes in Erfdeel Road.

The contents were then loaded into a waiting sedan vehicle, with Makhele adding the driver was instructed to lie on the ground.

The suspects then locked the driver in the back of the bakkie and escaped with the stolen items.

The model and registration number of the getaway vehicle is unknown.
