#Eskom warns of FS power interruption─── 06:15 Thu, 28 Jan 2021
The national power utility Eskom warns the residents of Qwaqwa in the Free State of planned electricity supply interruption on Thursday between 6:00 and 21:00.
Eskom's provincial spokesperson, Stefanie Jansen van Rensburg, tells OFM News the purpose of this outage is to improve the reliability of the electricity supply.
"Eskom has undertaken an upgrade project to improve reliability of electricity supply to the communities feeding on Qwaqwa, Witsieshoek, and Phuthaditjhaba substations."
She says the project is now in its final stage and the second Sorata 132 Kv feeder will be commissioned soon. She adds that to commission this second line, three outages of 15 hours each were needed, and Eskom completed the first and second outages as planned.
"Unfortunately, Eskom had to reschedule the third outage initially scheduled for 26 November 2020, due to unforeseen circumstances," says Jansen Van Rensburg.
