Reportedly, after the man shot several people at a restaurant, he fled the scene in his car.

He then drove to a filling station in Sharpeville, where he turned the gun on himself.

This is the same filling station that collapsed late last year, following heavy rains and strong winds, injuring several people in the process.

Gauteng police spokesperson Kay Makhubele says all those injured were taken to hospital.

Makhubele concluded by saying the motive for the shooting is still unknown at the stage.
