Residents of Masimong in the Free State are pleased that the Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality has heeded their calls to close the local dumping site.
Residents had implored the municipality for many years to close up the site. They say the site posed a threat to their children’s health and safety.
Infrastructure MMC, Ditabe Nhlapo, has told OFM News they are looking for a new site near Kgabisi village.
He says it will, however , take some time before the new premises will be ready for use.
