NW municipal offices closed─── 08:46 Wed, 21 Apr 2021
Residents of the embattled Tswaing Local Municipality in the North West are left without services as the offices are closed.
In a public notice issued by the municipal manager, Isaac Moruti, no reason is given as to why the municipal premises shut its doors.
The notice only indicates that the office will not be operational until Thursday 22 April. Meanwhile, young people residing in Tswaing have been raising concerns with regard to the alleged general worker appointments to be made at the municipality.
OFM News learnt that the said appointments were to be made this Wednesday.
Moruti told OFM News that the offices are closed for safety reasons, citing that there is a group people who wants to occupy the offices illegally.
DA caucus leader in Tswaing, Kagiso Magwejane, says it is not right for the municipality to close the offices due to political issues and leave residents in the dark over services.
Moruti says the office will be opened on Thursday pending the court outcomes regarding the group that want to occupy the offices.
