11 arrested during #KimberleyShutdown─── 15:00 Wed, 28 Apr 2021
Eleven people were arrested during the attempted shutdown by community leaders and some members of the community who organised a march to the Premier's office on April 15.
Rocks, refuse and other objects were thrown in the roads in Galeshewe, Colville, Roodepan, and Greenpoint on Monday during the attempted shutdown.
Burning tyres were also used to block the roads to prevent cars and people from moving from one place to another.
There were reports of criminal activities taking place where some drivers and taxi operators were forced to pay to go through barricaded roads.
