Murder suspect released on bail after boyfriend's death─── 13:14 Tue, 11 May 2021

The case against a 49-year-old suspect charged with the murder of her 37-year-old boyfriend, has been postponed until 2 June 2021.
The North West NPA's spokesperson, Henry Mamothane, says the suspect was released on bail of R300 following her appearance in the Schweizer-Reneke Magistrate's Court in the North West on Monday. OFM News previously reported that according to the provincial spokesperson, Adéle Myburgh, the suspect was arrested by police on Friday 7 May 2021, for the alleged murder of her boyfriend. The suspect is due to re-appear in the same court.
“That was after the police were called to the couple’s residence in Charon, an Informal Settlement, where the victim was found inside with a stab wound to his chest. He was declared dead on the scene by Emergency and Medical Rescue Services' (EMRS) paramedics. It is alleged that an argument ensued between the victim and his girlfriend, leading to the fatal stabbing,” Myburgh says in a statement.
The North West Acting Provincial Commissioner, Dintletse Molefe says the police will continue to work hard to ensure that those who perpetrate crime, including gender-based violence (GBV), are brought to book. She urged members of the community to resolve their differences in an amicable manner rather than resorting to violence.
