A group of EFF members, including the provincial chairperson Mandisa Makesini and residents, have gathered at the island opposite the Norman Doubell Hall in the Free State. This is the second ceremony held in honour of the late Goliath who passed away due to Covid-19 complications. He is expected to be laid to rest in Heidedal on Saturday.

The EFF held its memorial services to commemorate the life of Goliath. The deputy president of the EFF, Floyd Shivambu, described Goliath as a dedicated leader. He said Goliath was humble and a disciplined EFF member. Shivambu said Goliath, who was previously a member of the ANC before joining the EFF in 2013, did not join the Red Berets because of a desire for party position but only to serve his people.
