According to EFF councillor, Pabllo Poone Rankholo, the budget does not speak to the needs of residents of Mangaung. “It is very sad that this was the last budget for the term and it was cut and paste as usual,” said Rankholo. OFM News had previously reported that all opposition parties voted against the presented budget which was eventually passed. One of the representatives of the Mangaung Concerned Community group, Motlatsi Mokgatla, however said that they were happy with the budget, as the council was willing to listen to their inputs as residents.

Meanwhile, the provisional maintenance of infrastructure is deemed insufficient and causes serious service delivery problems, according to the DA and Freedom Front Plus. All opposition parties are against the increased tariffs and claim that service delivery is non-existent in Mangaung.
