Nompondo says the structure appointed last month has nine months to ensure that the provincial elective conference takes place.

Speaking alongside the structure's convenor, Mxolisi Dukwana, and his deputy Sisi Ntombela, Nompondo told members of the media they will certainly uphold the programme of unity and renewal in their interactions with the different regions and all structures of the ANC.

The trio briefed the media on Thursday following a two-day meeting of the IPC. The structure, led by Dukwana who is a well-known opponent of the suspended Secretary-General Ace Magashule, added that the main purpose is to address divisions within the party and to ensure that the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) is elected.

OFM News earlier reported that the structure was elected after the disbandment of the PEC by the Free State High Court, following ANCvsANC court battles.

"The IPC will assess the state of branches and validity of memberships. Out of five regions in the province, three are ready to hold their conferences," said Nompondo.

He added that they will be meeting structures in the different regions as of this weekend to chart a way forward.
