Communities in the North West are urged to adhere to Covid-19 regulations. This, as the province recorded a spike in new cases and is amongst those already experiencing the third wave of the pandemic.
The province has recorded a total of 650 new cases in the last 24 hours with the majority being recorded in the Bojanala District.
The districts of Bojanala, Dr Kenneth Kaunda and Ngaka Modiri Molema have been hard hit by the pandemic. The Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati district has recorded the least positive cases, although the areas of Naledi Municipality, which include Vryburg, has recorded the highest within this district.
The Provincial Health Department has expressed great concern at the escalating number of cases across the province, including the number of Covid-19 related deaths.
Health MEC Madoda Sambatha has meanwhile announced that over 81 000 vaccines have been administered and that the roll-out of the second phase of the Covid-19 vaccination programme is proceeding well.
