Police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, says three people were as a result injured and transferred to hospital where two died upon arrival.

Makhele says the victims were sitting around a fire warming themselves at Zone 8 in Meqheleng, Ficksburg, when they were surprised by unknown armed men. He further adds that the suspects allegedly had their faces covered, walked into the yard and began to randomly shoot at the victims then walked away.

He says no arrests have been made and he is appealing to anyone with information regarding the incident to contact their nearest police station.
