No learners are attending school as the disgruntled residents are demanding that President Cyril Ramaphosa addresses the lack of service delivery in the Maluti-A-Phofung Municipality. Some community members in Harrismith want the town to be removed from Maluti-A-Phofung due to poor service delivery. 

Meanwhile, the province's education department spokesperson, Howard Ndaba, says the department is concerned and has appealed for calm in order for teaching and learning to continue.
