According to the Education Department, this includes educators and non-teaching staff. MEC Tate Makgoe, says the vaccination of education personnel against Covid-19 is proceeding well at all 29 vaccination sites.

He confirms they experienced challenges at the Gonyane Primary School on Wednesday when a group of disgruntled teachers demonstrated their frustrations with long queues. Makgoe says they have since attended to that. He appeals to all education personnel to ignore rumours suggesting there is a limited number of vaccines and that not all teachers will be vaccinated.

Speaking to OFM News on the second day of vaccinations, Makgoe highlights that they aim to vaccinate all education personnel across the province within 10 days.

OFM News previously reported that the province is expecting to vaccinate a total of 32 000 personnel by the end of this term with 26 000 of them being educators.
