NC completes water project worth millions─── 10:58 Thu, 01 Jul 2021
The Northern Cape Province has recently completed the Ga-Mopedi bulk water project worth R15 million in the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality.
According to the Northern Cape Provincial Government statement, a total of 1200 households has benefitted from this project.
The project started in May 2020 due to population growth and socio economic development in that area, as existing infrastructure was unable to cover demand of water within the community. Two boreholes were rebuffed and one was added to augment water provision in Ga-Mopedi.
The community of Ga-Mopedi has been asked to avoid vandalising the water infrastructure and also to use water sparingly, as Ga-Mopedi is a semi-arid area.
