This comes after a media briefing that was held earlier by the premier to address the rising infections and vaccination rollout in the province. Mokgoro stated they are targeting to vaccinate all those registered, aged 60 and above, by the end of July 2021. It has been reported that at this stage, only 50% of senior citizens in the province have been registered to be vaccinated.

Mokgoro has committed himself, together with other officials in the North West, to continue reaching out and assisting senior citizens to register for the vaccine. He reiterated that through effective mobilisation of targeted individuals, Covid-19 campaigns will also be intensified. According to Mokgoro, this is not only a provincial crisis, but a national crisis that needs everyone to join hands in tackling the pandemic.
