106 arrested in NC for not adhering to #SAlockdown regulations─── 16:08 Mon, 05 Jul 2021

The Northern Cape police have arrested 106 suspects for numerous crimes in relation to the contravention of the adjusted level 4 lockdown regulations.
The provincial spokesperson, Mashay Gamieldien, says the arrests were made between the period of 28 June 2021 to 4 July 2021. Gamieldien says 78 suspects were arrested for contravening the lockdown regulations, refusing to comply with the restriction on the movement of persons/curfew. In total, 12 suspects were arrested for not wearing masks, 11 for the sale of liquor, 3 for hindering of a law enforcement officer in the execution of his/her duties, and 2 for gatherings.
The police have issued a stern warning to the public that they will continue to vigorously enforce the regulations as stipulated during the adjusted alert level 4 of the Lockdown Regulations, Gamieldien says.
