Protest action ensues in another FS town─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 10:37 Wed, 07 Jul 2021
Residents of Bothaville in the Free State have embarked on a protest action against poor service delivery.
It's allegedly residents in the town, including the adjacent Kgotsong Township, have been without water for the last four days. Free State Emergency Services says they have received alerts of protesters barricading the roads sincethe early hours of the morning.
The town, which falls under the Nala Municipality, is amongst the few where protest actions have flared up in the last month. OFM News last week reported on protests in large parts of Welkom and on the N1 outside Ventersburg.
The protests in the two Matjhabeng Local Municipality towns were over service delivery issues, including calls for Executive Mayor Nkosinjani Speelman to step aside.
