The South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) confirms taxi's in the Free State, Northern Cape, Limpopo, and the Eastern Cape are in full operation.
The taxi organisation suspended all operations in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng following the eruption of violent protests on Monday. Spokesperson Sfiso Ntshangase said the decision was taken to protect taxi drivers and taxis from being targeted by protestors.
The organisation said they will review the decision to suspend taxis in other provinces as protests actions escalates.

The organisation confirms that in provinces where there are no protests, services will not be affected and will operate smoothly for as long as there are no violent eruptions.
