Liquor outlets back in business─── LUCKY NKUYANE 11:54 Mon, 26 Jul 2021
Unlike when people rushed to liquor outlets when they were for the first time allowed to buy alcohol after the hard lockdown last year, it seems to be business as usual as various liquor outlets have now again reopened.
This comes after the announcement by president Cyril Ramaphosa that the country is moving to adjusted lockdown level 3 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, which meant that liquor outlets will again be allowed to sell alcohol.
One of the liquor outlets' owners, who wanted to remain anonymous, said he was pleased that they will be operating again, as he will now be able to try and revive his business and pay his employees as lockdown regulations impacted his business negatively. He stated that he has about 60 employees and he had to pay them stipends instead of full salaries, which in turn impacted the families of his employees negatively.
