Condolences are pouring in for the family of the three-year-old toddler who fell to his death at a mall in Bloemfontein.

The family of four from Bergman Square near Bloemfontein visited the mall on Sunday and noticed that their son had gone missing at the parking lot level, identified as M3.

According to the police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, it was around 14:30 in the afternoon when the family headed towards the parking area where the father remained behind to pay for the parking ticket. When he joined the other members of his family, they noticed that their three-year-old son was missing. The family looked for the boy and met a security officer who informed them that their child had fallen to the ground.

Meryl Henning, on behalf of the management of the Loch Logan Waterfront in Bloemfontein, has meanwhile sent their condolences.

OFM News has reported that the toddler was declared dead on the scene.

The incident has sent shock waves on social media with Twitter and Facebook users continuing to send their messages of condolences to the family.
