This will be accused number one, Sekwetja Mahlamba, and accused number two, Sekola Matlaletsa's first appearance since they were granted R5 000 bail in June this year. 

This follows after they petitioned the Senekal Magistrate's Court to be released on bail based on new facts after the DNA results failed to prove their alleged involvement. 

The two face charges of robbery, murder, and stock theft following the murder of Horner in October 2020. 

OFM News previously reported the state's DNA test results of blood samples taken from the accused’s clothes, came back negative and did not match Horner's blood.

The first prosecutor also removed himself from the case a few weeks after the DNA results came back negative.

Mahlamba and Matlaletsa pleaded not guilty to the murder and robbery charges. 

The two have been in custody since October 2020. They were arrested in October 2020, following the discovery of Horner's body. Horner had sustained stab wounds to his head, shoulders, and hands.
