The outgoing North West Premier, Job Mokgoro, is yet to tender his resignation letter.
This, days after the ANC's Interim Provincial Committee made an announcement that premier elect, Bushy Maape, will take over from him. IPC spokesperson, Kenny Morolong, confirms to OFM News that the situation is still the same and that Mokgoro hasn't officially resigned yet.

Mokgoro was expected to resign as both premier and Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL) at least two weeks ago, after his term in office had expired. OFM News understands that despite this, Mokgoro will still need to resign as the premier and MPL to make way for Maape to assume office.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Legislature spokesperson, Tebogo Chaane, again confirmed to OFM News that the legislature is yet to receive Mokgoro's resignation letter - meaning Mokgoro remains the premier.
OFM News previously reported that Mokgoro had met with the acting ANC Secretary-General, Jessie Duarte, and criticised the ANC on how it handled the matter. It's said that he wanted the ANC leadership to apologise before he resigns.
Mokgoro replaced former premier and ANC Provincial Executive Committee Chairperson, Supra Mahumapelo.
