The party’s expected to decide on a new North West premier.

Supra Mahumapelo resigned from the post on Wednesday, saying he’s going on early retirement.

He, however, remains ANC provincial chair - something which some political pundits have described as worrisome.

Mahumapelo's exit from office was preceded by violent protests in the North West against his leadership.

His detractors also want him to be removed as a provincial ANC chair.

But, his supporters are expected to argue against his ousting.
