Toyota Free State Cheetahs get vaccinated - VIDEO─── 10:52 Mon, 30 Aug 2021
Rugby players from the Toyota Free State Cheetahs are in high spirits this Monday morning as many of them are getting their jab against Covid-19.
The players are also encouraging others to get vaccinated in a campaign to reopen the stadium for supporters to be able to enjoy the sport again.
This vaccination drive at the Toyota Stadium comes as the Free State government continues with its Covid-19 vaccination programme with two Deputy Ministers, including the Free State Premier, expected to address the media and members of the public gathered at the Free State Stadium.
Currently, the Free State province stands at 147 421 confirmed cases, 15 698 active cases and 6 274 deaths.
Randy September, general manager of Communications and Public Relations at the Toyota Free State Cheetahs, says this vaccination drive-through at the stadium is a campaign aimed at encouraging everyone to get vaccinated. September tells OFM News that the entire campaign is to have all Cheetahs players vaccinated, urging and encouraging all supporters to get vaccinated as well, to be able to reopen the stadium to their supporters who miss attending games.
Cheetahs player, Brandon Thomson, says the first priority of the team is to get vaccinated to take the strain off the healthcare system during this pandemic and limit the fatal risks that come with Covid-19.
