Power outages in FS─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 05:28 Thu, 02 Sep 2021
Residents in the Free State's Lejweleputswa District are once again experiencing power outages.
This, as Eskom confirmed it will implement load reductions in high density areas Thursday between 05:00 and 09:00. The power utility says this is to avoid network overloading.
It's further confirmed the load reduction to this district during morning peak hours is in efforts to avoid causing damage to infrastructure.
OFM News last month reported on how residents in five local municipalities, falling under this district, had to brace themselves for electricity supply interruptions due to restrictions. Eskom has once again issued notices to the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, and Gauteng.
The notices come at a time when Eskom is also calling on municipalities to settle their debts - with those in the Free State alone owing more than R12 billion.
