The municipality says they are offering amnesty to all residents that have tampered with their electricity connections.

The City of Matlosana Local Municipality spokesperson, Ntswaki Makhetha, told OFM News residents are urged to take this opportunity and register for amnesty at the Electrical Department or municipal pay points.

Consumers are advised to bring along their meter number, stand number, and a copy of a municipal statement.

The amnesty period will end on December 1.

Makhetha said the municipality will resume with the issuing of fines as soon as the amnesty period has lapsed.
