For several days now, areas including parts of Vereeniging, Vanderbiljpark, Sharpeville, and Evaton have been without water supply.

It is further reported that water levels at the Langerand reservoir are dropping at an alarming rate.

It is however not clear how diesel bills and other extra expenses are being paid for, following the outages.

Meanwhile the Emfuleni local municipality has urgedits residents who still have water, to use it sparingly, until power supply to the plant is fully restored.
