Premier Sisi Ntombela officially opened a newly built healthcare facility at Heidedal, Bloemfontein, in the Free State on Thursday.

Ntombela, accompanied by the Health MEC Montseng Tsiu and other Free State officials, expressed her gratitude for opening the healthcare facility that boasts state-of-the-art equipment that will serve the community of Heidedal. She said there is extensive construction and a refurbishment programme that is targeting old health facilities that need to be rebuilt or renovated. She also said that the process involved identifying clinics and other health facilities that need refurbishment across the province.

“I’m deeply touched by the commitment shown by health workers in this facility (Heidedal clinic) who worked tirelessly during this difficult time because of the Covid-19 pandemic. On behalf of the Provincial Government, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering commitment and invaluable service to the community of Heidedal. You worked under difficult conditions, being understaffed, but you soldiered on. I salute you,” she said.

Ntombela concluded by adding that the clinic will be employing two nurses, one cleaner, and a gardener, including two security officers to assist.
