#Elections2021: ANC leading top-three's race in NC─── BLAINE JONES 13:03 Wed, 03 Nov 2021

The African National Congress (ANC) is currently leading the race in the Northern Cape Province regarding 2021's Local Government elections.
The ANC thus far managed to get 49,78% of the support with 292,073 votes and 197 seats. The ANC is then followed by the Democratic Alliance (DA), who received 21.13% with 123,954 votes and 80 seats, according to results.elections.org.za. In the third place, the Economic Freedom Fighters has 9.2% with 54,005 votes and 31 seats. This is a huge drop for all three parties. The ANC had 434,696 votes in the 2016 election.
The DA had 185,401 votes and the EFF had 64,183 votes in 2016, which shows a decline in support and voter turnout.
Jacaranda News reported that only 64% of the votes have been tallied nationally, with the ANC in the lead with 46.18%, followed by the DA with 22.36%, and the EFF in third place with 10.23%.
The IEC set itself a goal of capturing 90% of the results by Wednesday morning, but are some way off the target.
