‘NW IPC must account for poor results’─── LUCKY NKUYANE 09:05 Sat, 13 Nov 2021
The ANC's internal political spat in the North West is once again back in the spotlight.
Some quarters in the party across the province are calling for action to be taken against the ANC’s Interim Provincial Committee (IPC) and other interim structures in the province for the poor Local Government Elections (LGE) results.
The ANC's Dr Kenneth Kaunda Interim Regional Committee (IRC) member, François Galamadien, blames interim committees for the poor results in the elections held on 1 November.
Galamadien says the party in Matlosana lost six Proportional Representative (PR) councillors.
OFM News previously reported that during the nominations of the party candidate list, disgruntled ANC members in that area marched to the party offices to protest against the alleged rigging of the list. The IPC is yet to comment on OFM News' inquiry.
“This is not only embarrassing but also a disappointment to the masses who expect the ANC leadership to uphold and respect the masses' choice, especially onward candidates. The conduct of the IRC, during this period, contributed to the poor performance in the election, and we want to put emphasis on the call made in the report of Cde Kgalema [Motlanthe] that those responsible for the manipulation of the list processes be disciplined,” he adds.
