Ezeil Rakgosi, a Wepener resident, says he heard the news while he was at the taxi rank. More than anything he is shocked at what the nine suspects are accused of. Rakgosi stated he is not here to support anyone, he simply wants to find out what happened.

OFM News previously reported the nine suspects who were arrested for murder and defeating the ends of Justice, are expected to appear in the Wepener Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

The suspects were arrested on Tuesday 30 November after the discovery of a decomposed body at a trench dug along the R26 between Wepener and Hobhouse. According to the Free State police spokesperson, Thabo Covane, this case is related to the previous case of kidnapping and assault, where three men were allegedly kidnapped and assaulted by a group of people on Friday 24 September 2021.
