Virginia Police have registered two cases of inquest after two children drowned in Meloding township.
This was confirmed by Free State police Spokesperson, Steven Thakeng, who says a group of young children went out to swim at the water gathered in a ditch near the railway line in Meloding after heavy rains. He says this is where a group of young boys happened to discover the lifeless body of child between the ages of 9 - 11 years-old as a result of drowning.
Police confirmed that this is the second child that died in Virginia this week as a result of drowning while trying to swim in the ditches.
Parents are sternly warned to ensure that their children are not gallivanting or wandering around especially swimming at places that are dangerous. Children must refrain from swimming to such places.
