The Municipal Manager (MM), Sello More, says the judge erred in the judgment. He says the judge was supposed to indicate whether the appointments were legal or illegal. 

More has distanced himself from the appointment of the police officials. 

OFM Mews previously reported that in a judgment against the Metro, More is ordered to furnish the court with an affidavit. This order wants to know why More should not be held liable for cost orders in his personal capacity. 

Previously, the National Treasury Department sent a letter to More, amongst others, and warned about the establishment of the metro police unit.  

In the letter, treasury’s Malijeng Ngqaleni previously said the metro police unit cannot be a priority, given the financial and service delivery performance of the municipality.
