ANC cllr in Matlosana resigns─── 16:53 Fri, 07 Jan 2022
Only two months after local government elections were held on 1 November 2021, an ANC Ward 2 councillor in a Matlosana sub-region has resigned from his position.
Bonakele Humane from Ward 2 in Tigane reportedly resigned just before Christmas.
As a result by-elections will take place on 23 February 2022.
The Economic Freedom Fighters, Patriotic Alliance, Freedom Front Plus, Democratic Alliance and a local party are said to be in the race to contest the upcoming by-elections.
OFM News understands that Ward 1 - also in Tigane - is awaiting court outcomes in February with regard to councillors’ positions.
