Scamming activities continue in FS─── TSHEHLA KOTELI 11:31 Wed, 12 Jan 2022
The Free State Department of Police, Roads, and Transport would urgently like to inform the public that the department’s Acting HOD Robinson Thekiso’s official email has been hacked.
According to the department’s spokesperson, Hillary Mophethe, Thekiso’s official email was hacked after the department made a call to contractors to not get involved in any financial transactions for appointment letters for projects or tenders. The department notices that this scamming activity is still going on, as the scammers have sent correspondence through Thekiso’s email address. Members of the community are urged to ignore such correspondence from the email thekisor@freetrans.gov.za.
Mophethe previously appealed to contractors, female contractors in particular, that they should not make payments to anyone in order to obtain an appointment letter for a project or tender. The department strongly stated this is a scam to rob people of their money and it is in no way official correspondence. The Free State community is hereby urged to report such fraudulent activities to the SAPS in order to clamp down this mischief and corruption in the province.
