Eskom loses supply to Frankfort and surrounding rural areas─── 16:07 Mon, 17 Jan 2022

Damage to an 88kV busbar at Eskom’s Frankfort Municipal Substation resulted in a loss of supply to Frankfort and surrounding rural customers at 13:54 Monday afternoon.
In addition to the town, customers feeding from the Frankfort-Tweeling, Frankfort-Tolcon and Frankfort-Petronet 22kV lines are also affected.
Damage is being assessed and an estimated restoration time is yet unknown.
We apologise for the inconvenience and assure customers that repairs are being attended to with the required urgency. We furthermore ask customers to remain patient as technical staff in the area are inundated with weather-related and other faults.
Electricity users are urged to treat all electrical lines, sockets, and appliances as live and dangerous.
